Hi sweeties! There are two trends I noticed in beauty world and one of them involves brows. Like MAC says it in its new campaign “Brows are it”. And they really are! Even though they’re often forgotten, they really do have the ability to change your face. Benefit anticipated on this trend and came out with a bunch of new products and I tested a few of them out for you! Want to know if they’re worth the splurge? Then definitely go read my review of the Benefit Wow Brow Kit.
Benefit is no stranger when it comes to brows. They developed their own Brow Bar, where people can get their brows professionally groomed and tweaked. ( In Belgium you can find these bars in the Inno in Brussels & Antwerp). They had a few brow products in their line, but nothing compared to what they came out with now. As I watched famous beauty guru’s, such as Jeffree Star and Tati (my fave youtubers tbh), try out and play around with the new products at the Benefit party in L.A., I impatiently waited for the products to come out in Belgium. Last week, I finally got my hands on a few of them. You can buy them separately, or in a box, like I did.
I believe there were about three kits. I remember there being one for soft, natural looking brows, one for really big and bold brows and the one I got: Defined and Refined brows. Each kit contains specific products for the look that it describes, and this one seemed to be the best fit for me.
- BROWVO! Conditioning Eyebrow Primer
- Precisely, My Brow Pencil
- A tool to help you draw your brows
- The High Brow
How cute are these names? I absolutely love how Benefit comes with original packaging and naming. The products come in this tin box, which is very useful afterwards (right now I use it to store other makeup).
The first product is a two-in-one kind of product. You get a conditioner and a primer! I use this in the morning to prime my brows, in order to make sure my brows stay put throughout the day. This really works! My brows look perfect until I take off my makeup. I also use this right before I go to bed, to condition the brows. Conditioning the brows? Why the heck would you do that? Well, this product contains keratine and soja proteins, which are both good for healthy and fuller hair (these are the same ingredients used in shampoos!). Especially if you suffer from very sparse and stubborn brows, this might be a good product for you!
Tip: make sure you hold the pen upside down when you twist the cap! I thought mine was broken because nothing would come out… turns out you need to turn it upside down in order for the product to flow out. ?
The next product is my favorite for sure. The Precisely my Brow Pencil a typical brow pencil to fill in your brows. The tip is so tiny, which enables you to draw and fill in your brows very meticulously. On the other end you find a spoolie to smoothen out any harsh lines, or to comb your brows. I adore this product. I’ve only been using this for a week but I already now I’ll be repurchasing this one (damn you Benefit, my wallet is not happy with you). The packaging gets an A+, it’s long-wearing, its tip is very tiny which is good for drawing realistic hairs… It’s just perfection.
There’s one warning I want to add though. Since the tip is so tiny, it also breaks off very easily. Make sure you don’t roll out the tip too far because it will break. I lost a few millimetres because of this, and it’s such a waste of product and money. I saw 2€ fall down the drain!
In this kit, you also receive a guide and a tool to help you draw on your brows. I think this would be amazing for beginners or people who have very sparse brows. If you aren’t sure how to draw on your brows, this tool could be a very cool help. I haven’t used it though. I have pretty good brows myself, so I just don’t really need it to map out where they should go. Are you a beginner in the beauty world and do you want to learn how to draw your brows? This kit is going to be the one for you! (I noticed the other kit contained stencils, which are also pretty useful if you need a guide to draw on your brows)
The last product in this kit is the High Brow, which is my second favorite in this box. It’s a super smooth, pink-y colored pencil, which is used to highlight under your brows. I’ve been using it also to highlight the inner tear-duct and the waterline. This stays put all day! Incredible. Definitely worth the money. Only downside is that you need to have a sharper that is able to sharpen such big pencils.
I am fairly new to the world of brows. I only started learning how to tweak and draw them a few months ago, but I’ve been obsessed ever since (still learning though, I admit). I’ve tried few products, but I must say that the Benefit products are real winners. Each and every one in this kit is a keeper. I would definitely repurchase the High Brow and the Precisely my Brow Pencil. The kit retails at €32,00, which I admit is a lot to spend on your brows. You can buy these products separately as well, but knowing that you get three full size products, while the pencil alone costs €26,50, I would prefer buying the kit again.
- Packaging: A+
- Quality, wear, color, etc.: A+ (but be careful not to break the pencil!)
- Price: €32,00 (at Galleria Inno)
I hope you guys liked the review! Let me know if you’re buying these products and if you do, let me know what you think of them!
Have a nice day lovelies!
