The Ocher Trenchcoat
I saw this jacket in Zara’s sale and fell in love with it. I decided to wait a little while to buy it, and because of this I almost forgot about it. But then I saw Spencer Hastings wear the exact same trenchcoat in Pretty Little Liars and I fell in love with it all over again. The color. The style. Everything about it was perfect so I had to have it. It was sold out though so I visited about four other Zaras and FINALLY I found one in my size. Long story short: the idea for Style File was born. I prepared two of Spencer’s staple styles: this autumn casual style and a comfortable preppy style.
Spencer and I are alike in the sense that we’re both very driven and passionate. We’re also both die-hard caffeine addicts, so I saw this as the perfect opportunity to visit some coffeeshops. The people in this little coffeeshop called “Glow,” in the heart of Antwerp were super nice and the coffee was de-li-cious! Definitely worth a visit. (You can find them on Facebook here)
Trenchcoats aren’t just Spencer’s favorite, they’re also making a complete comeback this fall. They’re the finishing touch to any casual outfit next season and perfect for those gloomy days. The fact that this one has this very special orange-y ocher color makes it even more unique. The best way to style flashy colors is to keep it simple underneath. I only used black, white and gold accents to make sure the coat has its own moment.
Even though this trench is the true star of this look, I also want to give this dress its moment of glory. Cute collars and sleek, yet feminine, prints are totally Spencer’s style. Impossible to go wrong with this.
The second look is comfortable, yet super preppy, which I think is something Spencer would rock. Button ups, preppy sweaters, loafers… the total package. I combined my favorite blue button up blouse and added a wool Hollister sweater, for that ‘university girl’ kind of style.
Spencer is a real Girl Boss, so I could imagine her reading this book too; I can recommend it to each and every motivated girl out there. Or even when you’re not motivated, but still want to accomplish something in life. This book is hard to put down and is filled with great advice. Definitely worth to read!
Most of all, preppy looks are so awesome because they pretty much never go out of style and any age can rock them. Whether you’re in your twenties or in your sixties, you will look sophisticated and accomplished when wearing a preppy outfit. If you pair it up with some playful shoes, a cute bag and fun jewelry, it won’t look as stiff. Because of this, it’s the perfect outfit to wear to class, to work,…
