H ello beauties! It’s my birthday today, yay! What better way to celebrate this special day, than with a new blogpost? I’m currently in Spain, which means tropic temperatures, sunshine all day long and beach waves in my hair. This week I would like to share with you my favorite outfit and essentials on vacation, as summer is just around the corner.
1. The Outfit
I present to you: my favorite outfit at the moment. When on vacation, you definitely can’t go wrong with stripes. Vertical stripes, horizontal stripes, stripes with polka dots… it’s all fashionable. It’s true that vertical stripes will make you look more slim and taller, but it’s definitely not the only option. This season, it’s totally cool to combine vertical with horizontal stripes. Like,
Like, for example, these pants from zara:
I played on safe though, and chose this co-ord set from SheIn.
What I love most about this outfit (apart from its mega cheap pricepoint of 15$) is the little bow in the back. How cute is that? I literally felt like a doll, strolling on the boulevard at the beach. Another advantage of this look, is the fact that it comes as a co-ord set. It’s just as easy as a dress; you get the complete look and you only need to add your accessories. No fuss in the morning. You could also wear the bow in the front, as this set is convertible. Yay for choices!
Heads up: If you’re considering getting this set as well, I recommend going one size up. I ordered my usual size (S, for reference), and sure, it fits nicely… but I think a size up might have been more comfortable.
2. A floppy hat
If you’re anything like me, you get sunburn within 5 minutes of walking into the sun. Auwtch (see my leg? It’s red and I’d only been in Spain for a few hours). I try to live on sunscreen (no joke, factor 50, who’s with me???) but I can’t prevent my head from getting a burn; This is why the next trend is one I love soo much: The Floppy Hat. You find them in all sizes and shapes nowadays, but my favorite is the one with a cute little message written on it. Like mine, for instance, with “Off Duty”. Perfect for vacay, right?
This floppy hat is from Veritas: €14,99
3. Cheap, Retro Sunglasses
The first thing I bought upon arriving here, were a pair of cheap sunglasses. I might have a sunglass-addiction, because I was already carrying 3 pairs of sunglasses in my luggage, oops. But they are all kind of expensive and when I’m strolling on the rocky beach or even swimming, I don’t want to risk losing them or breaking them. I found these Ray Ban look-a-likes (but no fakes!) in my favorite store in Spain: Ale-Hop. If you ever visit Spain and you don’t know this store, make sure you visit! They have the most fun stuff (also if you’re searching for original gifts, this is a must-visit).
These glasses cost me about €10,00
4. Dem Good Vibes
When it’s Spring or Summer, I always feel happier. I know many of you still have exams or have to go to work. I want to wish you all the luck, strength and courage in the world. Hang in there, summer is just around the corner.
